Segesta & Erice
Leaving Palermo drive to Erice to enjoy the opportunity to see some of Sicily’s varying landscape. As you near Erice, the road ascends through pine woods with fine views of Trapani and the Egadi Islands. Erice has historical and artistic interests, the beauty of its landscape and the extraordinary views make this a popular stop to visit. The last stretch will be on foot from the bus parking area. After your guided walk you will enjoy some free time to explore further on your own before continue your excursion.Your tour will continue to Segesta offering to the visitor the possibility to see some of Sicily’s varying landscape, including mountains, undulating hill country and vineyards.Upon arrival at the archaeological site of Segesta, you will find that only a few traces remain of the ancient town–the ruins of square towers and of a gate from the old fortifications. Miraculously intact, though, is the Temple of Segesta.
