The spines of Punta Paci
On the south side of the bay of Scilla, 30 min from the Diving Center by boat. The bottom slopes down quite decisively, and at a depth of -20m two parallel spines of rocks rise. The rocks, of a height of about 15m, are covered in a multitude of life forms. At a further depth, we will find “our” famous two-tone soft corals, surrounded by schools of Anthias. In the winter months, it is common to meet the San Pietro fish (Zeus Faber), while in the summer, you may be sure to see schools of Barracudas!! It is a thrill to watch them glide a few feet away from you. Usually the school will stay with us for the duration of the dive. Remember to cast a glance at the sandy bottom once in a while, because it is a favourite spot for sting rays.
